College Funding Services Provided

Below is a list of services we provide to Hawaii’s college bound students and their families.  Please keep in mind that services are tailored to your family's specific situation.

STUDENT POSITIONING, PLANNING & INTERACTION

  • Student Assessment
  • Personality Profile Evaluation
  • Advanced search of careers, majors & studies based on specific student interests
  • Innovative college search based on demographics and personalized areas of importance
  • Personalized Private Student Interview – Designed by a university professor extremely knowledgeable about admissions practices
    • The interview will be conducted by a certified admission counselor
    • Written report will be provided to the parent & advisor along with a summary of the interview & recommendations for the student
  • Student-Focused Services – Easily accessible, available staff member who has gone through college and the application process will help keep your student on track

 Client Services Coordinator (CSC) will:

  • Contact the student periodically
  • The CSC will contact the student to check up/catch up and to follow up with the student on anything that needs to be processed in the office
  • Answer questions regarding college/college life
  • The CSC will be available to answer questions about courses, requirements, the dreaded “freshmen 15” and more!
  • Rare is the family where the child and parents agree 100% all the time – the CSC will help the student to make decisions in an objective manner while keeping the family’s financial goals foremost in mind
  • It’s tremendously easier to reach the destination…when you know what the destination is! We can help the student with planning and creating goals whether they are school goals, career goals, or life goals
  • Monitor student’s action plan
  • When an action plan is not set and implemented, goals then become unfulfilled dreams. We check in occasionally to ensure the student has plausible plans and is following through with their action plan
  • Provide feedback to parents
  • We know communication can be difficult sometimes between parents and children, especially about subjects where they may not see eye-to-eye (such as college choice or career).  We work as a liaison between parents and student to help each side understand each other.  Parents will be notified of correspondence with their child.
  • Follow-ups with student regarding deadlines, decisions, and “disasters” (from a D on an essay to bad roommates!)
  • The CSC will remind students to get in any forms (financial aid papers, award letters and the like) before the deadline.  If there is a major decision to be made, the CSC will check with the student to make sure they are on the right track.  Also, if there are any “disasters,” the CSC will be on-hand to help the student through it or respond in the best way.
  • Help ease family stress/tension
  • Sometimes it takes a third opinion to make the most informed decision
